About

According to their origin story both Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma mysteriously appeared one day in the apartment of an office worker Koaru. Where they came from and why they arrived remains unknown. Rilakkuma has a zipper on his back suggesting he is wearing a costume and may infact not be a real bear! Korilakkuma has a red button on her front also suggesting her appearance may be a costume! Rilakkuma

Rilakkuma (リラックマ) meaning "Relax Bear".

Rilakkuma is lazy and likes to spend every day relaxing. He is always stress-free and likes to do things at his own pace. Rilakkuma loves snacks, his favourite foods are pancakes and special sweets (dango) from the local rice dumpling store. His favourite activites include sleeping, lying around and eating!

Korilakkuma

Korilakkuma (コリラックマ) meaning "Little Relaxing Bear".

Korilakkuma is a mischievous cub with lots of energy who loves to play tricks. She was named by Kiiroitori and did not know Rilakkuma prior to arriving at Kaoru's appartment. Her favourite toys include a radio-controlled duck and a soft toy penguin. Her favourite food is strawberries.

Kiiroitori

Kiiroitori (キイロイトリ) meaning "Yellow Bird".

Kiiroitori is Kaoru's pet bird. He lived with Kaoru before Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma arrived. He can leave his cage at any time and takes care of both Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma. He is often annoyed by Rilakkuma’s laziness and Korilakkuma’s mischievousness. Kiiroitori is hard-working by nature and enjoys cleaning!

Chairoikoguma

Chairoikoguma (チャイロイコグマ) meaning "Brown Little Bear".
Also known as Koguma-chan.

Chairoikoguma was first introduced in 2016. He is a real bear that lives in the Honey Forest and is good friends with Korilakkuma. Korilakkuma befriended him in the forest one day and brought him to meet Rilakkuma and Kiiriotori.

Chairoikoguma loves honey and also smells of it! He has bear-shaped honey patches on his feet and rear. He has thick white fur on his chest and his teeth can sometimes be seen when his mouth is open! He also has a honey bee friend called Kumanbachi.
